Well, its time for all that training and pestering people for sponsorship to pay off.
This will be the furthest any of the riders will have riden in a single day, Scunthorpe to Wootton Bassett, 180 miles. If we can hold an average speed of 15mph then we should get there in 12 hours riding.
Every rider has paid their own costs in doing the ride, which is £45 each, as well as raising money for this years charity, Help for Heroes.
We have had a lot of help and items supplied at cost by local businesses to keep the overall cost down;
Snack Attack (Scunthorpe) - Sandwiches
A Signs (Scunthorpe) - Signs
All Sports Nutrition (Doncaster) - Isotonic Drink Powder
Keep Yourself Right 2 (Scunthorpe) - SIS Energy Gels
Wheelhub - Internet Review Site - Gifts for all the riders
Pubs along the route have allowed us to use their car parks as feed stations;
The Royal Oak - Collingham
The Kings Arms - Scalford
Coach & Horses - Lubenham
The Plough - Eathorpe
Coach & Horses - Bourton-On-The-Water
This years brave (crazy) riders are;
Andy Farrow, Andy Whitaker, Calwyn Hunt, Carl Proctor, Daniel Jobe,Dan Broughton, David Haber, James Gaunt, Jamie Allan, Lex Dalton, Martin Charlesworth, Matt Goodwin, Matt Porter and Phil Dunn.
The support team who non of this would be possible without are;
Elinor Porter, Steve Grout, Julia Taylor, Catherine Porter, Anita Hunt, Ian Porter & Emma, Jan Haber
If you think our cause is worthy of sponsorship, all proceeds are going to Help for Heroes, send an email to s.treaderz@yahoo.com , tell us how much you can sponsor us for and we will email back details of how to do it!
Keep an eye on local press both in Scunthorpe and Wootton Bassett, stories should be in both.
Riders I hope you're ready!
